AFFILIATE MARKETING KNOWLEDGE
This is all about learning the fundamentals of affiliate marketing and from there deciding if it is right for you. This includes knowing the tools you need, all the setups you need to put in place, and all the investments you have to make if there are any.
The fact is, all this information is free and can be found on Youtube and all over the internet, the only problem is the internet is full of information and you, as a newbie won’t know what is true and what is not.
For that reason, I always recommend taking a course that is not expensive but, has great value. or sometimes there are free courses that give you what you want.
AFFILIATE MARKETING COURSES I RECOMMEND
I have taken these courses and find them to be filled with gems and they are good starting points in affiliate marketing.
The 15-day business builder challenge is a good course to take especially if you don’t know what affiliate marketing is and you don’t know the fundamentals. Also, if you want to be an affiliate for Legendary marketer, completing the course is a requirement.

High ticket product – Because that makes a difference in the amount of commission I make. The higher, the better.
Recurring Commissions – That is a matter of set it and forget it. t is usually a subscription program that makes me money on a monthly basis
Good support – That means the affiliate program belongs to a company that helps you with any problem you might have
The company has several products and upsales – That means you can promote more than 1 products and maximize your commissions

As I mentioned above, finding products, learning affiliate marketing, and joining affiliate programs is the easy part and you can control it because it depends on you and how active you are in pursuing it.
Now, we come to the part of promoting products and generating traffic when a lot of beginners struggle in getting right.
To start, let me give you general guidelines if you are a beginner and tell you about mistakes I make when I started;
Promoting a product means showing people what you have to offer and generating traffic because, without traffic, your business is dead
Focus on one or two methods of generating traffic to start then when you master them, you can add other methods
Don’t be deceived by shiny objects because the internet is full of those.
Avoid shortcuts because it hurts your business in the long run, and stick to what works
METHODS OF PROMOTING AFFILIATE PRODUCTS
I am going to give you a list of methods of promotion and you can start with what you are comfortable with until you master it then add another method
PROMOTING ON SEARCH ENGINE
A search engine is any platform where people search for things to buy, to learn, or for any other purpose
Search engines are a lot but, I will talk about three of them here (Google, Youtube, and Pinterest)
1. Google
Google is the number one search engine on the internet and to use traffic from Google, you have to do the following
Have a website/blog post which is a simple thing to do
Rank your articles on Google so when people search for something, your website is on the first page of Google and people click on it
This is not a quick or easy thing to do because that requires two things
Writing a lot because Google likes useful and unique contents
This might require you to use one of the SEO tools
Let’s say for example you are promoting running shoes for men. Let’s plug that term in Google
There are 278 Million results who are competing with you and you have to beat them all to be on the first page one Google
The point is, if you are going this route, you have to be patient and give it time while you are adding new content and building the authority of your site
2. Youtube Videos
If you are not shy on camera, this might be the best method. Simply make a review of videos of products and put your affiliate links in the description below the video.
Remember, there are three people involved with this process, the buyer, the seller, and you as an affiliate marketer. If everything went right, all three must be happy.

The buyer buys the products he needs and gets useful information from you to help him in buying decision
You as an affiliate marketer make commissions

All the videos you see above are for affiliate marketers who are doing exactly what I mentioned above.
Let’s open one of them and see. You will find these people are giving review of these running shoes
But, if you look at the description below the video, you will find affiliate links so people can click and buy, and the affiliate marketers make commissions
3. Pinterest
Yes, Pinterest is a search engine where people go and look for things and make a purchasing decision.
Pinterest is a picture-based platform where people look for pictures that are called pins. When people click on those pins, they get forwarded where you want them to go like your blog or even an affiliate sales page
There are two things I like about Pinterest;
They allow affiliate links
They don’t want to keep users to the Pinterest platform, rather, they want users to find what they are looking for even if it is an affiliate page.
It is easy to make professional-looking pins using Canva and I talked about the whole process HERE
You have to pin a lot and on a daily basis which can be a little boring and labor-intensive. But, you can use apps like the Tailwind app to do that for you
You have to post/pin all kind of pins like a regular pin, stories, videos
You have a higher chance of success if you direct users to your blog posts instead of to affiliate sales pages.
Since I started using the Tailwind app, the impression of my pins increased dramatically. See the graph below
4. PROMOTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
When it comes to social media, it is all about keeping people engaged and giving them attractive content.
But, the return or effect can be seen quicker than the effect of search engines.
There are many social media platforms but here, I am going to talk about Facebook Groups because that what I have experience with.
5. Facebook Groups
It is free to create your own group or join other groups in your niche.
What you do is, help people by answering their questions and showing them products that can solve their problems.
It is also very important to make your personal Facebook page work for you by inviting people to your group with cover pictures and helpful posts. See my personal Facebook page below how I make my group known and invite people to it.
At the beginning of starting your Facebook group, you have to be active and post a lot of helpful content, but when the number of members increases, you don’t have to be as active because members help each other. You can join my group here.
You have to gain the trust of the group members over time by giving them helpful content, then, if they trust you, they buy anything you have to sell in the future.
6. Instagram
Promoting on Instagram can be lucrative and passive but, you have to do it continuously in order to get the maximum value from it.
The only thing I don’t like about Instagram is you have only one link to include in your profile and you can forward people who are interested to see what you have to offer to only one link.
To overcome the labor-intensive task, you can use the tailwind app to schedule posts also to start, you can hire influencers to get your account going.
7. Promoting On Other Platforms
In this section, I want to talk about two huge traffic drivers if done right. Forums and Q and A websites.
Just think about it, people go to these sites to find a solution for their problems or improve their situation. If you can show them the solution through a product you are promoting then it is a win for you.
Remember, your job as an affiliate marketer is to help people find solutions for their problems.
8. Forumes
Forums are sites where people ask questions, exchange ideas, and help each other. Some forums are for certain niches and some are open to all niches.
Here is what you do;
Join forums in your niche
Find posts for people who are looking for help
Give an honest answer and try to help them
When you are established as a contributor on that forum, sometimes include links to products you are promoting
This process takes a little time but, is so with anything that is free but working.
9. Q And Answer Sites
Again, these question-and-answer sites where people ask questions and others answer. My recommendation for these kinds of sites is Quara.
On that site, people ask all kinds of questions from how to cook an egg to how to make a rocket. See my account. So far, I answered more than 1.2K questions and I have more than 215K views to my answers.
In many of these answers, I include a link to my website, affiliate offer, or my Youtube video. let me show you an example;
Someone was asking if Legendary marketer is a scam, I gave a valuable answer and included a link to my website. Remember, your answers will be online forever and you can get a lot of traffic from it.
10. Email Marketing
Email marketing is one of the most effective ways to promote products and make money. Big companies like Amazon, Walmart, and others use email marketing all the time to promote products.
When using email marketing, here are important factors to consider.
Make sure your emails don’t land in the junk folder – This can be achieved by choosing a good autoresponder in the market and you have a lot of og choices to do that.
Use proved email subject lines – This ensures that people open your emails because if no one is opening your emails, no matter how good the product you are promoting is, you won’t make money.
AFFILIATE PROGRAMS I DON’T RECOMMEND
Most affiliate programs don’t have any conditions but some do like the following:
They require you to sell a certain amount in a certain period. Like the Amazon affiliate program, you have to make at least three sales in three months. That sounds fine and a lot of people are making a lot of money with it, but you as a beginner, won’t have a lot of traffic to start, and making three sales won’t be easy. You better wait for a little until you have increased traffic to your site before you join Amazon as an affiliate.

CLICKBANK – Is a website where product creators list their products and allow affiliate marketers to promote them for a commission. The thing about clickbank is;
They have a huge amount of products and a big list of categories.

After you sign up and login, click the “marketplace”, on the left side, you will see red menu of categories, and inside those categories, you find sub-categories.
From there, you can choose any product you want to promote.
Tip in choosing a product:
Always choose a product that has high gravity score, that means, many promoters are seeing success with that product.
Choose a product that has affiliate page which means you will get affiliate resources.
As an example in this article, we are going to work with a product called “Okinawa Flat Belly Tonic” which pays $134.83 per sale, has an affiliate page, and a good gravity score.
To promote this product click the “Promote” button as shown below then a new window will open
Then click the “Generate Hoplink” button and your affiliate link will generate as it is shown below.
As an affiliate marketer, all you have to do is get people to click that link.
When people click that link, it takes them to the sales page of the product and any product that is sold through your affiliate link makes you an affiliate commission.
Now, we have the product, We need to put an offer together to promote.
2. THE OFFER
After finding the product, we need to put an offer together which can be text, image, or video. We need to put something attractive to show people and get them to click on it. For this article, we are going to use Canva free account.
Canva is a platform to make artwork fast and easy.
On Canva, click “create a design” and choose “Pinterest Pin” as shown below.
On the left side, you will find pre-designed templates that are professional and nice. There are some paid and some free, click on the one you like and it is ready for you to change the image and text.
Now Change the image and text to show your product that you are promoting. You can find everything you need on the sales page of the product.
To change the text, just click on it and type what you want.
To change the image, just drag the new image onto the existing one.
Obviously, you can do better than this if you play around with it for a bit.
Now, that we have our image ready, on the top right, click the arrow and click download, and save your image.
With this, we have our product and our offer, We need to promote it somewhere on the internet.
Pinterest is a search engine for pictures with high traffic and high domain authority levels.
We can promote with affiliate links which I am going to show you below, but, first, see below how much traffic is Pinterest getting on monthly basis.
WHAT ARE ALLOWED AND NOT ALLOWED ON PINTEREST?
You are allowed to post for free and they are called pins
You are allowed to include affiliate links
You are not allowed to shorten links
Now, let’s go and post/pin the image you designed above.
After you create a free account and log in, click “create” then “Create a pin” as it is shown below
Drag and drop the image you designed on Canva or click and select you image
Put your title, description, hashtags, and most importantly, put your affiliate link you got on Clickbank.
In the end, it should look like this
Publish the pin and that is about it.
As I said, Pinterest is a search engine, when people search for something like how to lose weight, calory burn, or something similar, and your pin comes up, if they click on that pin/image, it takes them to the product sales page through your affiliate link.
If they buy something, you make money.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL ON PINTEREST?
Pinterest is a free search engine and a free promotional platform, in order to be successful with it you have to do the following:
Pin good and attractive images
Put a call to action like “Click Here” or something similar
You have to pin multiple times a day. 10 pins a day is a good number

There is no shortage of affiliate programs on the internet, but, do you just promote any product? when searching for an affiliate program, you have to look for five things in them:
Value – Is there value in the product? Do people buy the product? does the product help people?
Margin – Does the affiliate program pays good enough? Does it have up-sales?
Tracking – Are getting a commission on future sales made by your referrals? how long are your referrals connected to you?
Marketing Materials – Does the program offers good marketing materials for you to use? does it follow up with your referrals with different materials?
Integrity – Does the company have values and ethics? is the company reputable?
CHAPTER 4: HOW TO FIND A HOT NICHE WITH PROVEN BUYERS
In choosing a niche, you have to ask yourself three questions:
Are the customers in this niche are known to buy stuff or they are freebie seekers?
Can you get customers in this niche to buy the one-time recurring product?

Most people are scared to tab into a niche that is highly competitive and that is wrong. If a niche is highly competitive that means there are buyers.

David Sharpe encourages people to use Clickfunnels. With this, it is an unbeatable combination. Legendary Marketer is handling the education and Clickfunnels handling the technical part. For me, it is the cooperation of 2 leading companies of this era.
All training is detailed and you won’t get lost. You will be shown what to do step-by-step all the way from start to finish.
Legendary is always updating and evolving to come up with new things and to add things that they realize to work. For example, TikTok training was added in 2020, and Copywriter’s Playbook was added in late 2019.
WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT LEGENDARY MARKETER
They have an amazing affiliate program, the problem is, not everyone is accepted. I don’t really know what are the qualification they are looking for but, I had a hard time getting accepted.
Some of the products, while they are so valuable, they are expensive in terms that not everyone can pay. It will be more attractive if they have payment plans to make it easier for more people to join.
You have to pay $30/month if you want to make a higher percentage commission. I never understood this concept where I have to pay to promote someone else’s product.
There is a big list of countries that are banned or locked of becoming legendary so, the program is not open to everyone in the world.

WHY I SWITCHED FROM DRIP TO ACTIVECAMPAIGN?
I have been using Drip for more than 3 years and recently I switched to Active campaign. First of all, Drip is a great autoresponder with great features and functions, but, it was not what I needed. Let me list the reasons for my decision:
1. PRICE
The minimum price with Drip is $49/month
Activecampaign starts at $15/month
2. AFFILIATE PROGRAM
I am an affiliate marketer, I like to earn money in affiliate programs like Clickfunnels, Activecampaign, and others while using the platform. Drip doesn’t have an affiliate program but, Ac has one.
3. CUSTOMER SERVICE
If I have a problem with something and I call, I like to talk to a human to help me. With active campaign, I can actually call and talk to a person. But, with Drip, you can chat online or send an email.
4. DIRECTION
Drip has features and functions that are more than I needed. It is mostly directed towards e-commerce. I am an affiliate marketer, Don’t have an e-commerce store. So, I am paying for things that I don’t need and I don’t use them.
But, again, Drip offers 14 days free trial that you can use and decide for yourself.

USER EXPERIENCE
AC has more functions and power than Aweber, you will think Aweber is easier to use. But, the opposite is true. When it comes to user experience and ease of use, Activecampaig is the absolute winner.
DESIGNS
AC gives you around 40 templates that you can edit/modify if you wanted. Aweber gives you more than 150 templates. When you consider the number of templates, Aweber is better, but, when you consider the flexibility of the modernity of the templates, AC is much better than Aweber.
AUTOMATION
Automation emails with activecampaign are perfect and I think it is as good as it gets. With Aweber, It is a little confusing and the learning curve can be long compared to AC.
SUBSCRIPTION FORMS
This category comes to a personal choice.
With AC if you are on a low price package, you are given only one generic form. But, if you are on a plus or higher plan, you are given more choices and ease of use
With Aweber, you have more options, more features, and more flexibility when it comes to forms. In my case and many people, I don’t use the ready forms and I make my own forms using Elementor.
REPORTING
As I mentioned in the Pros and Cons section, reporting with activecampaign is one of the best-detailed reporting I have even seen. So clearly AC takes this category. With Aweber, there are only basic reports available.
DELIVERABILITY OF EMAILS
This is the most important thing with your emails. you don’t want them to end up in the junk folder and marked as spam. When comparing AC and Aweber, AC deliverability is higher than the deliverability of Aweber according to this
INTEGRATION
Both AC and Aweber provide a good integration system and people are happy with both.
SUPPORT
I like the support of Activecampaign, they offer chat, email, and phone lines. To be honest, I never tried the support of Aweber, what I read on the web, some are happy and some are not with Aweber.
PRICING
This depends on what package you wanted to take and what are your needs. Generally, ActiveCampaign starts at $15/month and Aweber starts at $19/month

As you can see above, Activecampaign wins in most categories when compared with Aweber. Based on that fact, We can say that AC is definitely much better than Aweber. It is also cheaper and they offer 14 days free trial, so why not try it!
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE WITH ACTIVECAMPAIGN
When I first started with AC, and I discovered that they don’t allow affiliate links like Drip, I was a bit worried. I am an affiliate marketer and affiliate links are the bloodline of my business.
When I searched on the net and saw what people do to combat this problem, I was relieved. Here is what I do:
Instead of affiliate links in my emails, I forward them to my landing pages, then from there, I redirect to where ever I want to send them when it is very easy to do and it is all over youtube.
That means It is a very important thing to have a website if you are an affiliate marketer and want to use Activecampaign. For me, it was very much worth it. with drip, I was paying $49/month. Now I pay $25/month

As we saw above, AC wins in almost every category. I don’t see why someone takes Aweber over AC at all especially when Aweber charges for duplicate subscribers

When it comes to price, AC is much cheaper. aside from that, it depends on what you want the platform for. Drip has more features and functions that are used in eCommerce but are not used in affiliate marketing or a simple blog.
In my case when I was using drip, I was not using all the functions that I was paying for so, I switched.
My Recommendation – For eCommerce get Drip, otherwise get AC
ACTIVECAMPAIGN VS COMVERTKIT
AC is a little cheaper to start but it gets almost the same as ConverKit. But, where AC takes the winning price over ConvertKit is, it has more complex automation and has many more triggers and tags.

HOW TO MAKE SURE YOUR EMAILS DON’T END UP IN JUSK MAIL?
In general, you should avoid being “pushy” in your emails, you should avoid using phrases like Debt-free, Free, Earn,…..etc.
The best thing is, to tell a story without pushing for sales then put a link without telling people to buy anything.
After you do that, you should consider checking your email score with a 3rd party service provider. Usually, they are paid service but, some of them allow you to use a certain number of times for free.
I click “next” then at the bottom, I see a green button that says “Send a test” put the email address that the 3rd party platform gives you.
Then click “Send Test”
Then go to the 3rd party platform and check your score
This test gave me 9.2/10 which is very good. And below that. it gives you all the reasons for the deduction that you can click and deal with if you want to
